First Visit


Allow me to formally Welcome you to Melt Massage!

Until further notice, in doing our part to reduce the risk of transmission of Covid-19, instead of doing in-person massage we are offering Virtual Massage services only.

But read ahead to learn of our standard best practices for when we return to in-person massage.

Because we don’t like to leave a good massage to chance, your first visit includes an initial consultation where we learn from you how to design the best massage for you with results that last as long as possible. So, when planning time for your First visit, allow up to an extra 30 minutes for the initial consultation. Also, please plan your parking accordingly.

Our on-line scheduling system does distinguish services as First visits or Return visits, Therapeutic or Pregnancy massages. Please select the appropriate service so we may plan our time accordingly for you.

Please note, our hours are not 50, but a full 60 minutes long.

In preparation for your appointment, there are a few things I should let you know about:

1. Paperwork:

If you have a chance to complete our initial intake paperwork before you come – great.  In that case, please print it out and bring it with you. If not, no problem since we have more in the studio and can simply complete it together here.

Are you visiting from out of town? If so you might say “Why should I fill out paperwork? I may not be back or at least not frequently because I live out of town.” We say, “All the more reason to make the most of your massage! Why get a ‘take your chances massage’? Do you like to throw money away?” By investing a little before your massage you can better ensure a great massage. Give us the chance to make a great first impression with a great massage for you.

2. Parking:

Parking is easy with both metered and some free street parking as well as validated parking up to the first two hours in the Parking Garage at the top of La Salle Ave.

3. Extra time first session:

In our first session we like to spend up to an extra 30 minutes with you getting to know your unique physical history in order to better ensure a great massage without taking any of that time away from your full time on the table. We tack that on to the beginning of the session so we don’t go in blind. Please plan accordingly.

4. Payment:

In the studio, we are equipped to receive payments by Cash, Check, or Credit Card (Visa and Mastercard).

5. Cancellation:

We do have a 24-hour cancellation policy or full payment from your credit card or gift certificate.  If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment with less than 24-hours’ notice, please consider who you can send in your place so that you’re not charged for a massage you don’t get. If you can’t send someone in your place we will make every effort to fill your spot but, if we cannot, we must charge you for that missed appointment. To help you avoid missing appointments, we send confirmations to you by email 2 days prior to your appointment. If you discover you need to reschedule, please call at your earliest convenience.

If you are sick, getting over being sick or have been exposed to someone you know is sick in the last 3 days, please contact us as soon as possible to discuss the possibility of rescheduling your appointment.  We will explain why. Thank you for your understanding in this matter of business policy.
