Our lymphatic system is responsible for maintaining the balance of fluids in our bodies, assisting in absorption of fats and supporting our immune function. We know it’s not working optimally when we have swelling that takes a long time or simply doesn’t go down or when it takes longer than normal to get well. Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) skin treatment was developed to solve this problem. The gold-standard MLD is the Vodder method, developed in the 1930’s by Emil and Estrid Vodder.
Unlike lymphatic massage, MLD is applied with specific strokes in specific orders, at an average pressure of 30-32 mmHg or 0.7 psi. Think of the psi for your car tire or bike tire. Yeah. Significantly less than that. And at That pressure it is most effective. I am honored to study with the highly trained and skilled, Vodder MLD master teacher, Gay Lee Gulbrandson and bring the benefits of this training to you.
