Why 2026 is the year to Be vs to Do for me…
I know how I Be affects everything I Do. Where I come from emotionally ripples out like an endless wave from my center through each and every little thing I do.
But sometimes it’s hard for me to focus on myself. It may surprise you to learn that doing massages gives me practice on focusing on myself. To give a good massage I must connect with my quiet center. When I can help you do that too, our calmness resonates together and is amplified for each other.
When I’m more calm I feel more stable, access to more parts of me that makes it easier to make more well-rounded decisions instead of quick impulsive reactions. It takes work. It takes attention. It takes interrupting myself to say, “Wait a minute. What’s happening right now?” to ask myself, “What do I really want here? What do I really want this year?”
I’m strengthening that quiet calm with feeding myself words of wisdom from people I respect like:
– AOC whose video reminds me “The first order of business is to self-regulate.”
– Dr. Mark Harman whose LinkedIn post reminds me how emotional regulation is the key to healthier selves and a better world,
– Pawan Bareja, PhD, whose book Reignite Your Power, demonstrates Resolving Trauma through Mindfulness,
– and Amishi Jha PhD, whose Ted Talk (short) reveals how attention is the boss of your mind, and shares her research findings that you can strengthen your focused attention in as little as 12 minutes a day in her book Peak Mind.
What are you up to this year?
How can I support you in being your best, most calm, cool, collected self, to achieve those goals of being and doing? Let me know. I’m here for you.
